The Target

HTML5 Target

Creating an HTML5 output is the most commonly used published format of documentation which is intended for web-base, wide-audience distribution. It compiles all the necessary files into a destination folder which contains an 'index' file, usually named Default.htm which is opened to display the contents of the publication.

Additional benefits are :

Hyperlinked Content

Content within the project can contain links to relevant topics within the project, or can link to other web destinations. Text and images can contain hyperlinked elements, and TOC (table of content) items can contain links to other published documentation or to website URL's.

Media-Rich Content

HTML5 is published in a browser-based format and can contain dynamic elements such as dropdown text, text popups, mapped images, and multimedia content such as video content or animations.

Content Update

When HTML5 content is published online, the content can be updated locally then republished to the web destination. This is a seamless process, allowing the end-user audience to access the latest content without the necessity of downloading patches or updates.

Responsive Display

HTML5 output is designed to be responsive to any device. Consequentially, content is resized proportionately when viewed on a laptop, tablet or mobile device. Specific 'Skins' are used in Tablet and Mobile outputs, which allows a slide-out menu which can be set to either a Tree or Drilldown display.
